A Night Such as This: Poem

Title: A Night Such as This
By: Bruce Hackmann

As I took your hand
We walked to the shore
We could still hear the band
Beach sand was our floor

Her well formed figure swayed to the tide
Darkness surround with a diamond laced sky
Curvaceous moves had us in stride
With each lapping wave you held your dress up to your thigh

Bodies together in an erotic move
Hips swaying to the sultry moon
Sounds of the waves and music in groove
Lost in seduction we could feel the swoon

Your kiss so luscious
The moment so enchanting
Your curves so voluptuous
It was all so alluring

One could only dream of such passion
Dancing on the midnight shore ...
On a night such as this

Rivers Edge: Poem

I was doing some video work for some of my poems at the Ocqueoc Falls near Rogers City, Michigan. I have a poem called Rivers Bend and I changed it a little and titled it Rivers Edge here and add in the Odawa Indian name.

Title: Rivers Edge
By: Bruce Hackmann

The winding river softly flows
As the eagle glides on the wind
With each twist n turn the river goes
While the brook trout swims around the bend

The wandering river carefully circulates
As the turtle crawls back to the stream
With each curve n curl the river percolates
While the Mallard floats around midstream

The roving river rolls along
As the deer drinks from the river’s edge
With each zig n zag the river is strong
While the beaver sits on the rocky ledge

The meandering river flows through the forest
As the Chief of the Odawa stands ... by The Rivers Edge

Quintessence: Poem

Title: Quintessence
By: Bruce Hackmann

She’s the quintessential beauty that walks before me

O her eyes are precious gems
The cut so brilliant
The color so valuable
The clarity so luminous
The carat weight beyond compare
Your eyes express such qualities
Your eyes are the jewels that glow

O her skin is soft as a rose petal
The passion so tender
The purity so exemplar
The enchantment so blissful
The beauty measures beyond compare
Your skin embodies these qualities
Your skin is the flower in bloom

O her hair is lustrous as silk
The prism so shimmering
The hue so radiant
The touch so luxurious
The loveliness values beyond compare
Your hair personifies these qualities
Your hair is the fabric of royalty

Her quintessence fills my spirit
Quintessentially, her beauty is my standard

Rivers Bend: Poem

Title: Rivers Bend
By: Bruce Hackmann

The meandering river gently flows
As the butterfly glides on the summer wind
With each twist n turn the river goes
While the brook trout swims around the bend

The winding river carefully circulates
As the turtle crawls back to the stream
With each curve n curl the river percolates
While the swan gracefully nests with esteem

The roaming river rolls along
As the salamander baths on the edge
With each zig n zag the river is strong
While the frog sits on the rocky ledge

The wandering river slowly flows through the meadow
As I walk along the rivers bend

Darkness: Poem

Title: Darkness
By: Bruce Hackmann

Darkness fills the day
Loneliness is your friend
How long the stay
The spirit descend

Negative thoughts in the way
Mind starts to befriend
Everything inside in disarray
Body feels the trend

As your life starts to stray
You just wonder …
When will the heart start to mend

Falling is Beautiful: Poem

Title: Falling is Beautiful
By: Bruce Hackmann

Falling can happen
When you don’t expect it
Your heart feels the passion
It happens when you least expect it

Time with you is enchanting
You seem so exquisite
The mind finds you dazzling
Each moment feels decadent

Please don’t tell me it's illusional
Because falling could be so beautiful

The Beauty Before Me: Poem

It's was June 2016 when I had this experience.

I’ll never forget the moment.

Her right hand was under her chin. She was talking about food and spices. But, I got lost looking into her brown eyes, the freckles around the bridge of her nose, and I swear at that moment I experienced all the good moments of her life looking deep into those eyes.

While finishing my wine I was thinking about the little girl within her. Then, the young lady inside. Then, she stood before me and asked me if I wanted one more glass of wine. I paid and went to the parking lot to write these words.

First poem to write in 30 years. It’s simple and cute.

Title: The Beauty Before Me
By: Bruce Hackmann

Looking into her eyes
I see a world so deep

The little girl, the young lady,
The beauty that stands before me

Her freckles on her cheek
Tell a story so rich

The little girl, the young lady,
The beauty that stands before me

Her skin so soft
It speaks of a life so pure

The little girl, the young lady,
The Beauty that Stands Before Me

Babbling Brook: Poem

I have a necklace line that I named Rivers Bend. Last month, March 2018, I thought I would try and write a poem for the necklace line.

Title: Babbling Brook
By: Bruce Hackmann

The babbling brook
Plays a quiet melody
That streams between my ears
While my inner spirits ascent

The cascading score
Collaborates with my nose
With calming aromas of mineral scent

The bouquet plays
To the timeless moment
Of tranquil time spent

The Rambling River: Poem

Preparing to do some video/photography work on my poem titled, Rivers Bend, I was thinking about the different types of rivers I will be confronted with. Each river could have a different characteristic which will influence the emotional tone. So, I came up with three different types: Roaring, Rolling, and Rambling. It's the same poem but set to each rivers characteristic.

Title: The Rambling River
By: Bruce Hackmann

The rambling river
Plays a riveting melody
That streams between my ears
As my inner spirits ascent

The cascading score
Collaborates with my nose
With calming aromas of mineral scent

The bouquet plays
To the timeless moment
Of tranquil time spent
